Introduction: A Journey of Healing In the wake of loss, life often guides us towards unexpected journeys and opportunities for healing. This blog, “Tales of Madagascar,” is rooted in a deeply personal story—one marked by love, loss, and a desire to make a difference in the world. My partner of 23 years, Carla, faced her battle with ovarian cancer with incredible bravery and dignity. It all started in May 2022 and ended October 2023. However, it is those last few weeks in the Hospital and later the Hospice where the fighting stops and the preparation for death starts. The time we spent together were both heart-wrenching and illuminating, highlighting the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing our time on this earth.
